I just finished my master's in education at Stony Brook University. I graduated with a 3.9, made the Dean's list for four consecutive semesters, and was a member of the History Honor Society at Sony Brook. I am certified to teach social studies for grades 5-12.
Experience
During part of my time as an undergraduate at Stony Brook University, I was involved in a mentor program with middle school students. Along with a handful of other Stony Brook students, I worked with struggling students to help them stay on top of their studies and pass their courses. I recently finished a four month student teaching internship at Longwood High School. I taught 9th grade and 11th grade social studies. There, I offered extra help to any students who needed it. This has definitely prepared me to tutor for various social studies courses.

Hobbies
I am pretty laid back and have a lot of patience. When I was in elementary school, I was not the strongest student. I know what it is like to have great difficulty with certain subjects (math and science for me!) and can therefore relate to the frustrations that many students feel. I am a very organized person and definitely feel that organization is key to academic success. I am quite personable and can relate well to students due to my experiences with babysitting, mentoring, and working at a summer camp.
