I am a tutor with over ten years experience. I attended Hofstra University where I majored in French. I speak and tutor students in several other languages in which I am also fluent (Spanish, Italian, and Greek). I also provide tutoring in English, Essay Editing, College Essays, Writing, and numerous other subjects.In my years of tutoring I've learned to identify a student's hurdles, whether they be frustration, boredom, or a feeling of intimidation when faced with unfamiliar concepts. As a seasoned tutor, I take it upon myself to make the subject engaging and approachable, and break the information up into increments so the student isn't overwhelmed. I make it my duty to check in with them and verify that a certain level of comprehension is achieved before we move forward. As an example of this, when tutoring a beginning French student, I always start things off with a cursory lesson in English grammar, which I've found to be a great way to build a sense of confidence in the student and get them in a learning frame of mind. I believe in a balance between patience and firmness in expectation. I love to see students excel, and am proud to be a part of that process.
